Inspiramais reaches its tenth anniversary inspiring the fashion industry

The
only materials design and innovation exhibition in Latin America reaches its
tenth anniversary and celebrates one of the most complete projects in the
fashion production chain, unifies the language of industries throughout Brazil,
and provides an identity to national
products in all links of the production chain.
The next Inspiramais will be a milestone in the
history of national fashion construction projects. More than that, it is a
benchmark for the entire industry in the fashion production chain, bringing
together the following sectors: textiles and clothing, costume jewelry,
footwear, furniture, automobile, and components and trimmings for footwear and
clothing. It is a huge range of possibilities that has been building a unique
identity for Brazilian products, adding value and identity to all links in the
fashion production chain.
The construction, which unifies the language and methodology for the industry,
today generates the manufacture of products based on unique references and
inspirations, seeking to provide a genuinely Brazilian identity to the entire
national production. The initiatives include color palettes, research,
consulting and talks throughout the whole year in the most diverse Brazilian
production hubs. The various actions carried out universalize the national
products and increase the assertiveness in their sales process not only in
Brazil, but also in the international market.
The next Inspiramais is scheduled to be held on
January 14th and 15th, 2020 at the Pro Magno Events
Center in São Paulo. Admission is free for the sector’s professionals. Further
information is already available on the website www.inspiramais.com.br .
Inception
But how did Inspiramais
come about? For Ilse Guimarães, superintendent of Assintecal (the entity
that initiated the project – which currently encompasses the main Brazilian
sectoral bodies and companies of all sizes), this is not an easy question to
answer. According to her, there were various factors that led to its conception
and implementation.
“The most tangible reasons to understand Inspiramais are: make logistics easier
so that, every season, contemporary fashion materials can be shown in one
single place; encourage the creation of new materials by presenting diversified
options in a unique setting with a wide array of content; integrate the entire
production chain so that information can be shared and cooperation among
companies can be promoted. However, there was a bigger dream behind
that: to have a national exhibition that would become a benchmark both
domestically and abroad when it comes to launching materials for the fashion industry, since it
is one of the largest sectors in the Brazilian economy and occupies an
important place on the world stage,” said Ms. Guimarães.
Fashion names head the drafting of
guidelines for the industry
Over the years, Inspiramais has already relied on several names from the
fashion world in the implementation of projects. Among designers, researchers
and consultants, one of the prominent personalities is Walter Rodrigues, one of
the most respected names in the Brazilian fashion scene. Walter – a researcher,
stylist and designer – closely follows all the processes involved in the
Exhibition and coordinates the project’s Design Center.
“Ten years of Inspiramais mean the
result of the tireless and continuous work done by the project’s organizers,
who have always understood the importance of innovation, design and technology
as the great competitive advantages of the fashion materials made in Brazil. This
event also reinforces the sense of commitment of the fashion sector, and here
the footwear and accessories, jewelry, furniture and even automobile industries
stand out.”
Partnership with Abimóvel and the
strengthening of the links in the fashion chain
Among the novelties of Inspiramais is the officialization of the
Brazilian Association of Furniture Industries (Abimóvel) in the promotion of
the event. Abimóvel, which
had already been a supporting partner of the Exhibition since 2018, is now even
closer to Inspiramais as it becomes one of the promoters of the event, together
with Assintecal, CICB, ABIT and Apex-Brasil.
Cândida Maria Cervera, Abimóvel’s executive
director, believes that the integration among the fashion, materials and
innovation worlds within the industrial sector as a whole is a unique
opportunity to add value, gain
competitiveness and integrate economy. “The rich
material resulting from the research and
study of socio-economic, cultural, global and consumer behavior aspects in the
world is an important source of research also for the furniture sector. By way
of concrete example, in each edition of the Exhibition - mainly in the last two
years - there has been the presentation of more than 1,000 kinds of materials,
whose convergence with the furniture industry becomes evident, as is the case
of raw materials for the textile and leather industries. Therefore, the research, materials and
supplies, and actions presented and the synergy among sectors bring new
perspectives to and a new look at our industry.”
The growth of Inspiramais over 10 years
Walter Rodrigues himself
makes an analysis of this whole period, the changes in the market, the new
technologies and processes, the change in consumer behavior regarding
consumption and, mainly, the impact of
the event on the fashion market.
“It’s possible to
assess the positive influence of Inspiramais on the Brazilian fashion sector
during these ten years. First of all, it has set a standard for product
launches, whereby every six months new materials are presented, thus making
easier the work of designers and entrepreneurs in the creation of their
collections. Inspiramais is also a platform for innovative product launches,
technology, content and, of course, inspiration. Today, the Exhibition is a
benchmark when it comes to business and technology throughout Latin America”,
said Rodrigues.
He went on to say that, “in
2009, when Inspiramais was in its infancy, we reaffirmed the importance of
product identity by strengthening the company’s DNA to enhance competitiveness.
In the last few years, we’ve been aware of the change in technology and
sustainability standards, and this has been our discourse. Inspiramais is
always ahead of its time.”
In addition, according to
the designer, “the greatest transformation occurred in materials manufacturers,
since historically they did not produce collections, but only developed
materials based on the demand of finished products industries. Also to be
remembered is the change in the visitor profile, which as a result of the way
the Exhibition has been organized has become increasingly more professional. In
short, we’re not a space for relationships, but rather a place to do business”,
stated Mr. Walter Rodrigues.
What to expect from the next Inspiramais
The event is already being prepared to surprise its visitors. The watchword for
its tenth anniversary is “Synchrony”. Just having a logo is not enough. It is
necessary to be connected with everything happening in the world around us.
Thus, Inspiramais is ready to make this concept easier for visitors, providing
them with the best in new products, content and
innovative experiences.
With
the theme of Synchrony, the special projects will feature the interpretation
and reinterpretation of concepts containing the old and the new, which are
mixed together. A reflection on who we are ourselves and the layers that build
us.
Research and industry positioning place Brazil in the
worldwide consumer market
As previously stated,
Inspiramais is the result of thorough research work developed over a six-month
period. This work involves a team of consultants and designers, companies from
every Brazilian state, cycles of talks in more than 20 industrial hubs, and
international missions with buyers from Latin America, Europe and Asia. In
addition, there are other innovative projects involving the entire industrial
sector, which unifies its materials to use a single language in the manufacture
of Brazilian products, thus achieving greater assertiveness in the marketplace.
“We talk to the industry, which is responsible for producing a wide variety of
products in the areas of furniture, clothing, footwear, costume jewelry, and
accessories. They're products that go straight to consumers. Brazil is
establishing a standard of globally-consumed products, in line with
international trends, and it’s also succeeding in promoting a genuinely ‘made
in Brazil’ color palette, with references from our culture and regional
elements. Everything has been done according to a concept of consumption that
speaks to the world. Brazil didn’t imagine to reach this level, but through
Inspiramais we’re getting there”, pointed out Ilse Guimarães, superintendent of
Assintecal – Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather,
Footwear and Manufactured Goods -, one of the bodies responsible for organizing
Inspiramais.
Inspiramais is promoted by the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods (ASSINTECAL), Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (ABIT), Center for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB), Brazilian Association of Furniture Industries (Abimóvel), and Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). It has the support of some of the major Brazilian sectoral bodies, such as the Brazilian Association of Fashion Designers (ABEST), Brazilian Association of Leather Goods and Travelware (ABICAV), Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), Brazilian Fashion and Design Institute (In-Mod), Brazilian Institute of Gems and Precious Metals (IBGM), By Brasil Institute (IBB), Brazilian Association of Textile Retail (ABVTEX), Francal, Association for Sporting Goods Industry and Commerce (Ápice), and Guia Jeans Wear. In addition, the Exhibition is sponsored by Cipatex, Altero, Bertex, York, Sprint Têxtil, Caimi & Liaison, Brisa/ Intexco, Aunde Brasil, Advance Têxtil, Cofrag, Endutex, Colorgraf, Componarte, Branyl, Suntex, and Camaleoa.
